CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Wyoming will be represented at the Republican National Convention by 29 delegates and 26 alternates. The State Party Chairman, Committeeman and Committeewoman are automatic delegates to the national convention. The other delegates and alternates were elected at county party conventions or at the state party convention. More information about the convention and the delegate selection process is available on the Wyoming Republican Party’s website: Governor Matt Mead did not put his name in for one of these slots.

“I have attended previous Republican National Conventions as a delegate and as an alternate. The position is an important one and many look forward to the opportunity to attend the convention,” said Governor Mead. “It is an honor to represent one’s state. I wanted other qualified candidates to be able to attend. I am confident Wyoming’s delegates will do a great job for Wyoming and for Republicans. It is most important at the conclusion of the convention Republicans come together to support the nominee.”

Attendance at the national convention is not limited to delegates and Governor Mead has not finalized his calendar for July.
